According to an article published in Inquirer.net, Toyota Motors, the world's largest automaker, will soon sell hybrid electric cars in the Philippines. I did a little research on Wikipedia and I found out that Toyota Prius (shown on the picture) is the most fuel efficient car sold in the U.S. for 2007. It also ranked 2nd in UK's "Best on CO2 rankings", behind Volkswagen Polo 1.4 TDI 80PS.
Fuel efficient and environmental friendly car at a slight or significantly higher price :)

BigBerts = BIG Joke
Monday, April 02, 2007
Last week, I had my car undergo full detailing on BigBerts. I choose BigBerts over the others, in spite of the cost, because I've read in the forums that it is the best detailer here in Manila. The actual full detailing took 3-long days.
Me and my wife picked up the car on the 4th day. Our excitement turned to disappointment after seeing our car. Yes it looks a bit shiny but it is not as clean as we've expected. Personally, I'm expecting a clean interior and exterior, and also clean glasses since I also availed of glass detailing on top of the full detailing. Stains are still visible and the glass are still messy. I can still write my name on the window because of the dust. In fairness, the engine is very clean but that is not my agenda for having it detailed.
To cut the long story short, the quality of work is very poor. If they can only "clean" an already "clean" and "brand new" car then... therefore... I really hate to say this, but their service is truly a BIGBertsJoke.

All About Cars

We Need a Car
Since we are expecting our first child sometime in June or July, my wife and I decided that its time to buy a car for our baby. So we looked for used car online for several days but no luck. Finally, we found one through my brother's friend, a Honda City LXi '99 model (A/T).
Learning to Drive
The biggest problem after acquiring this car is... I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE! Thanks to my brother and my friend Johnson for helping me out each time I need to move the car like going to LTO, TMG, etc.
Last week, I enrolled in A1 driving school for a 5-hour driving lesson. It was a bit difficult at start since I have zero knowledge about cars and driving. As the day progressed, I started to feel more comfortable. Now, I'm more confident that I can really drive but parking is still a problem. I think I need to practice more on this aspect.
Wild, Wild, West
After completing my driving course, I've realize how hard it is to drive in the streets of Manila. There are lots of irresponsible drivers especially jeepney and bus drivers. That is the reason why drivers need to be extra cautious to avoid accidents.
Car Insurance
Now that I'm ready to go on my own in the next few days, I need to be prepared for the worst scenario like carnapping and accidents. I'm now looking for the best car insurance provider. My top 3 prospects are Oriental Assurance, Generali Pilipinas and Malayan Insurance. Feedback about these providers and other suggestions is very much appreciated.
